What
should I bring along to training classes?
Taekwon-Do
dobok (uniform), if possible. For new comers, a T-shirt and track pants/shorts.
How
much does it cost to join the club?
Membership
fees are $50 per year for RMIT students, Graduates & Staff. For
members of the genaral public the fee is $100.
Uniform (Dobok) costs $75-$85 depending on size and classes cost $2
per session!
Do
you compete in tournaments?
There
are many levels of competition that members of the club compete in.
Each year the club organizes and attends many tournaments, from its
own tournament where only members of this club can compete, to the National
Championships and the World Championships. We have two members of the
club competing in the World Championships in Queensland this year. We
travel interstate to tournaments in QLD and Sydney several times a year.
Can
I still join the club if I am not an RMIT student?
Yes
you can! Club membership is available to all members of the public.
Higher membership fees are charged if you are not a student of RMIT.

What
else do you do?
Apart
from training in Taekwon Do, we organise many social activities. We
go out to dinner most Friday nights after training. This is a great
way to get to know your instructors and peers in a fun, relaxed environment.
We also organize movie nights, parties, lunches and barbeques.
Do
you have any additional training?
Yes,
we do. Throughout the year we hold a number of Training Camps. These
are exciting, grueling and very enjoyable. We usually camp somewhere
beautiful in the country and train solidly for two days, topping the
weekend off with an afternoon soccer match or a hike in the bush. These
camps have proven to be very successful. Not only does the individual
improve considerably in their Taekwon Do skills, they become closer
to the people they train with and they have a great time.
